CANCELLATION If minimum enrollment is not met, a class will be cancelled. Students will be notified in advance and students will be given an opportunity to transfer to another class. If another class is not available, a full refund will be issued. If a student needs to cancel a registration and cancellation is received 30 days prior to the class start date, you will receive a full refund less the $50 registration fee. If cancellation is received less than 30 days but at least 7 days prior to the class start date, IAC will refund 50% of the class cost less the registration fee. There is no refund for cancellations received less than 7 days before the class start date. |
Clay Handbuilding
Kids Clay -- ages six to 13
instructor: Danielle Shockley
Within this course, students will be introduced to the basic techniques of clay handbuilding such as slab rolling, pinch pot construction, and slipping and scoring. They will combine these methods, along with other more specific skills, to create their very own pieces of art. Projects will include trinket boxes, handbuilt figures, windchimes, and more. After having constructed their pieces, students will return for a second session to complete them, using paints to add even more character to their piece. Students will be encouraged to use every part of their imagination to create extremely personal, one of a kind creations.
Two sessions: creating and finishing.
Session two will follow in two weeks, allowing time for drying and firing clay.
