Glassblowing is a great activity to enhance teamwork amongst co-workers. You will find it enriches communication, encouraging participants to develop good interpersonal skills. Glassblowing is almost always done as a team and many pieces would be impossible to make alone. Glassblowing provides a unique opportunity to work together creating an unforgettable experience.
Scheduling depends on the availability of our two master glass blowers Jackie Ballard and Owen Pach. Minimum 6 participants for all special events.
Four Hour Workshop
Hands on class which allows larger groups to enjoy the experience of glassblowing. Depending on the size of the group, participants make 1-3 bowls, vessels, ornaments, etc. At the end of the class, the instructors will work together with participants to create a beautiful piece valued at over $500 which someone in the class will keep.
One Hour Tour
Includes watching up to two demonstrations by our professional team of glassblowers from the start to finish of a piece. A knowledgeable tour guide will explain the process and answer any questions your group may have. Catering available upon request.
Hot Glass Social
Price: $75.00
Host an exciting event for your friends or colleagues at our studio. Glassblowing demos by master glass blowers Jackie Ballard and Owen Pach and hands-on experience are included. Guests can roll up their sleeves, pick up a tool, and make their own colorful paperweight or glass ornament. Ideal for birthdays and employee team building. A Hot Glass Social ranges from two to four hours depending on the size of a group. Participants may bring food & beverages.
Private Glass Blowing Demonstration for you or your Organization
Price: $75.00
Where does glass come from? What happens when molten glass is stretched or cooled suddenly? Bring your group in for a dazzling glassblowing demonstration and learn the answers to these and other questions. Our instructors will provide a narrated demonstration of the properties of glass as well as show you how a piece of glass art is created from start to finish. This fascinating demonstration lasts an hour and a half, includes a question and answer time, and is suitable for art classes, corporate groups, senior citizens, professional organizations, and others.
Goblet Making Seminar
Price: $250.00
Students will learn several traditional methods of creating stemware. We will cover; blowing and casting feet, bringing avolios and other bits, techniques for blowing thin, and more. The seminar consists of two 3 hour sessions with an instructor and two 3 hour blow slots between sessions or after. Having a partner for the class and your blowslots is strongly recommended.
Prerequisite: 6 months glassblowing experience OR instructor's approval
Sand Casting (1 Day Class)
Price: $150.00
Remember playing in the sandbox as a child? Imagine a glass sculpture created by you in just a few hours. In this class, you will work with IAC staff to design a one-of-a-kind sand mold. Then watch as hot molten glass is ladled in and brings your design to life. No prerequisite, all levels of experience welcome.
